Interiorism Design Students became finalists of Habitácola awards

Two proposals to the school yard of the CEIP Miguel Hernández from Alcoi carried out by students of the 3rd interior design of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi became finalists of Habitácola awards of this year, which have a recognized prestige statewide.

The topic in which the projects had to be focused was the school yard, where they were more specifically proposed to rethink this space by linking it directly to the process of discovery and learning, facilitating those experiences that reinforce everything that happens in school.

On the one hand, one of the finalist proposals has been Serendipia made by Elia Morales, Irene Morcillo and Cristina Garcia, with a project that wants to get this idea of patio to promote creativity, where children can interact with space and at the same time being a place of playing and learning. The design and the articulation that has been carried out in the two school yards is related to the game and the continuity of the origami, with a great structure as main element of which are emerging other forms that include the different playing areas in which the little ones can interact with the five senses.

The other project that has reached the final stage has been Serpèntica, made by Montse López. It simulates a natural space such as the jungle where a snake surrounds and traverses the two school yards forming a closed circle representing the cycle of life. This design awakens the imagination and creativity of children, creating a unique and original atmosphere. An articulated metallic structure, covered by an elastic cloth stamped with snake skin, passes through all the corners where there are arranged, among others, elastic beds or umbrellas. This proposal gives the sensation of walking through a fantastic forest due to the colors and the variety of shapes of furniture, which look like trees and stones.
