Víctor Mollà, student of Projectworks Management of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi won in the category of students of the InterCIDEC 2017 awards; an International Design Contest of Contract Environments organized by Beltá & Frajumar, a company that manufactures furniture and upholstery whose main aim with these awards is to generate innovative proposals based on the analysis of emerging needs of hotel users.
The project for which Víctor Mollà was awarded is entitled TRIVISIÓN. It is an investigation about the interrelation of the sensations with the immediate environment concreted in a room which allows the user to vary between the essence of sensitive materials.
From the rest of the winners, we must highlight the professional level. The first prize was for Jesus Torné, with the project Cosmopolis, a design that puts different cultures in dialogue. On the other hand, were also awarded with secondary awards, Oscar Sangines and Maria del Mar Tomás who won the first one with the project Coop House. Ofelia Sirvent and María José Durá won the second one with the project Per se. And finally, the third one was for Vicente Armando Ruíz and his project Gravedad Zero. Besides, there was a special mention of the jury to the students Mari Carmen Ortín and Lidia Cubero for the project Habitación con vistas.
Visit to the Habitat Fair
The prizes were awarded last September during the Habitat Fair in Valencia, an event that Interior and Product students visited, since this is one of the most important appointments in the national and international scope in terms of furniture design, lighting and decoration. More than 440 companies and exhibiting brands participated in the fair, more than 20% of them from countries such as South Korea, Malaysia, Turkey or Mexico, among others.
The students were able to learn firsthand the trends, innovations and ways of doing of the most important companies in this sector and analyzed the best stands of the fair. They chose as winner Point by Francesc Rifé, associated professor of the Department of Interiorism of EASDAlcoi and considered one of the best interior designers in the world.
In addition, they were in the forefront of the Habitat Trends Observatory and were able to learn about the creative lines that will be developed in the future within the design. There were seven possible conceptual paths that will precede. They also visited emerging NUDE designers who introduced new, unpublished products. This information, along with the discovery of all the options exposed to the fair, represents a very good opportunity to our students training.
