Illustrator Antonio Segura will tell us about his experience

On Wednesday, at 10 in the Assembly Hall will take place a talk-colloquium carried out by the illustrator Antonio Segura, a former student of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi. He will introduce us his personal and professional career related to the illustration, professional outputs, experiences, concerns, etc. Moreover, questions from the attendees will also be answered and books will be signed by Segura.

The illustrator will also hold a workshop for the students of Applied Illustration, which will take place on Wednesday and Thursday and will be about the degradation of the environment by the human being and its the impact on the planet, with an elegant point of view and a poetic touch. A different approach to the typical critical illustration aiming to achieve a direct and direct impact.

Antonio Segura, known by the nickname Dulk, is considered one of the greatest exponents of pop surrealism and urban art of the last decade. He is a multidisciplinary artist with many facets: pencil drawing, paintings of different layouts, sculpture or urban murals. Thanks to his versatility, he has worked in different areas, such as fashion illustration or graphic development for animated films.

His plastic works have been exhibited in prestigious international galleries, while his murals are scattered around cities all over the world. In addition, he won the short story contest “Brussels in Shorts” together with his brother Carlos Segura (writer) with Zomeravonden. This work, as well as his participation as an illustrator in the documentary “Un día vi 10.000 elefantes” (Barcelona 2014), are some of his most important awarded projects. The publication of the book The Dulk with Babylon has been a new step in his artistic career, since this artbook compiles a large number of works by Antonio Segura.
