On November 8th, the students of Sustainable Fashion visited the ECOFIRA of Valencia, the most important international contest of environmental solutions held in Spain.
The students attended the event not only as visitors, but also as active participants. They made a collection of fashionable garments using upcycling, a textile recycling technique based on taking advantage of recyclable materials to create higher valued products. The prototypes were exhibited in the stands of the textile recycling company TEXLIMCA and the Textile Recycling Iberian Association. (ASIRTEX).
Finally, the students attended a conference on new sustainable strategies titled: ‘Real alternatives for sustainable development’, a very interesting talk which was worth the participation of many professionals from different disciplines related to sustainable methodologies.
