Raquel Muñoz 2n Accésit CDIDV 2017

A former student of interior design was rewarded at the 2017 CDICV awards

Raquel Muñoz, who finished the course of Interior Design at the Escola d’Art i Superior d’Alcoi last year, has received the second secondary award by the College of Interior Designers of the Valencian Community (CDICV).

These awards are aimed to recent graduates of design schools in the Valencian Community, and in this 6th edition, Raquel Muñoz has been one of the awarded with her final project, Va de Bó, where she proposes a design of a architecture and interior design firm and a housing located in the city of Alcoi. In which, starting from the same space, a flexible space must be configured that can function in its entirety as a studio or a house, jointly or independently. With this premise is conceived a space with an open approach, in which a central piece with sculptural character aims to invigorate the space, from the breaking of the symmetry and the use of the diagonal. It generates a proposal with open spaces, proposing new models based on continuous surfaces, shared areas and volume games.

In short, a space without hierarchy to use freely to provide their own identity, emphasizing the artistic character, the treatment of light, as well as references to Japanese architecture, art and deconstructive architecture.

The award ceremony was held on November the 8th at the EASD Valencia, the centre where the rest of the winners came from, which is why Raquel Muñoz says she is very proud to have represented the EASDAlcoi in these 2017 CDICV awards.
