A graduate from our school designs a students dormitory in Ontinyent

Cristina García, recently graduated in Interior Design at our school, has designed a dormitory for the Ontinyent University Campus as a final project of her studies. The reason of it, is the increasing number of students in the recent years, who make these proposals starting to be necessary.

The place chosen for García’s proposal is an old textile factory located right next to the university. With this idea, the designer plans to turn the industrial building into a dormitory in order to accommodate foreign students who attend the Campus and require it.

This proposal, entitled “La Fábrica”, has a modern and youthful character, but above all, it has an industrial air, which for the designer is an element recalling the origins of the building. It has large windows to reach a space which changes according to the time of day; and at the same time, uses the maximum light hours, making the building energy efficient. In addition, with the harmony of materials, shapes and colors, it is created a chilling out environment.

The project designed by Cristina García has a reception and hall, kitchen, laundry room, public cafeteria, common areas, dining room, library and different types of rooms.
