Illustrator Ana Carrasco gave a talk and workshop last Wednesday, December 29th at EASDAlcoi, which intermingled creativity and play as concepts to develop different ideas through illustration.
At the conference she explained her professional career with examples of work applied in areas such as posters, press, CD covers or books. She also told all that the illustration entails: its communicative function, its aesthetic boundaries and the creative process from what is more abstract to its materialization.
In the afternoon workshop, these previous approaches were put into practice from a playful perspective. The technique chosen was collage and material, images of 19th-century engravings and different texts from books. Aitana suggested different proposals to students (from Illustration and Advertising Graphics) to experience compositively.
