The students of the 2 nd cycle of the Printed Graphic Product Assistant (APGI) visited last Friday Etygraf, a printing press specialized in labels, accompanied by teachers Encarna Barriga and Rafaela Morales. They were welcomed by Jordi Baldoví, as representative of the printing press.
At first, Jordi attended to all of them in the visiting room, to explain both the history of the founding of the company and its evolution and functioning.
Then, Jordi left the students in charge of Xavi, responsible for the prepress department, where they saw the preparation of the documents, which come from various design studies, to be filmed and processed, then went on to see how the flexo and printing clichés are made. The screens of serigraphy.
Afer that, they visited the machine zone, where they saw different flexo presses, from the most technological, of 8 bodies of printing of double-sided stickers and optical control of real-time registration, to the more traditional of 4 and 6 bodies. From there, they went to another room to see the machines of special finishes, serigraphy, blow dry and hot rolled.
Next, they visited the printing area, where they could see the different finishes that Etygraf offers.
Finally, they saw the digital offset room, where there was an astonishing machine with an added body, which is used to treat the label reels to enable the fixing of the inks.
The visit ended with the students being satisfied for having been able to check personally the process of working in a leading company in their field.
