Last week the students of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi (EASDAlcoi) enjoyed a conference and a workshop with Belli Ramírez, a reference of the direction of production in projects of animation in Spain. In the first act she reviewed her professional career, which highlighted that she is currently working on the fourth season of the popular animation series, Pocoyó, where she is the production manager.
In the workshop, the students could learn the process of production in animation step by step, from the script to the final result. Specifically, the students from first grade of animation worked all of them with the same script while second graders worked each one with their own.
The work developed during the two workshop sessions consisted in knowing how to identify the different needs from the text of the script. Belli Ramírez was indicating the best way to go underlining the different elements like props, characters, layouts, backgrounds, etc. And with all the tasks analyzed and focused, these have to go to specific production programs that control the time they take to get the final animation project, such as the design of the characters, coloring, etc. In this way, you can control the production time that will be the creation of an animation project from a script.
