Next course, the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi (EASDAlcoi) will start offering the Master’s Degree in Parametric Design and Digital Production. That is why, the school will held a couple of workshops in which will be explaned why and how can be done through this type of techniques.
They are two specialized workshops that will approach concepts of parametric design, with which and through a series of specific tools, can be achieved different types of final elements. In other words, this type of design is not limited by the capabilities of design programs, it also applies computer programming languages to digital design and production strategies, expanding the possibilities and achieving different final results by modifying parameters.
The conference is aimed at people related to industrial sectors, as well as interior design, graphics, product and fashion; and any student interested in generative and parametric methodologies and tools.
The main competencies that will be acquired in these two workshops will be the ability to understand the resources and work processes involved to develop a generative project.
Program of the Workshops of Parametric Design
EASDAlcoi will carry out these two specialized workshops, the first. entitled “Parameterize your box: Construction and 3D edition”, will take place from 9am to 6pm where we will work on the creation of elements from scanned volumes, editing volumes from Rhinoceros with Grasshopper, Grasshopper relationship structures for the construction and relationship of shapes and the creation of final projects to take to the workshop. This day will be taught by teachers Sergio Ferrero, Almudena Vidal and Laura Pons.
The second workshop, at the same time, will be entitled “Parametric typography: Creation and 2D edition”. This time, we will work on editing and creating basic forms with Processing, the installation of libraries, the creation and editing of text, the generation of complex forms using fonts and the publication and generation of external files in different formats. The teachers who will teach this workshop will be Victor Doval and Magda Arques.
