Thursday 6th of February has been formalized what has been a common interest for a long time by the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi and the Mercat de Sant Roc: to work together to take advantage of the creative potential offered by this last space and energize it to make it attractive to younger audiences.
Carlos Aracil and Tania Peinado, president and vice president of Mercat de Sant Roc, attended the School this morning to sign the agreement together with Pilar Blasco, director of EASDAlcoi. Aracil noted during this meeting that “the School can provide us with that innovative vision that connects with young people so that the Mercat also feels theirs and make it much more than a place dedicated to sale”.
“We have a very large space that can serve as artistic and design support for many interventions that students want to make”, explained Peinado, which also insisted on the cultural side of the project “we want to join the cultural offer of Alcoy and be an interesting meeting point in this regard.”
For her part, Pilar Blasco, has shown her desire and commitment to “provide solutions to these concerns, which can be resolved from multiple perspectives because design is an area of transversal creation”. She has also expressed how important this type of project is for students to “be an opportunity to get out of the daily formative environment and encounter other different and enriching challenges”.
From this moment on, it will be outlined which concrete actions will be carried out in the short term, always with the aim of consolidating the collaboration and remaining active for many years.
