EASDAlcoi participates in the ‘Las Rutas d’Ambrosio’ tv show to talk about design with recycled materials

The former student of Product Design Raúl Laurí has developed the Decafé project that uses coffee grounds as the main ingredient for the elaboration of different objects: lamps, mirrors, boxes and other home accessories.

This idea of reusing food waste through design caught the attention of the tv show team ‘Las Rutas d’Ambrosio‘ of 2 of TVE and last May they made a recording session in the School.

Raúl Laurí was interviewed and Product Design Degree 2nd and 3rth year students participated in a hands-on workshop showing what was the process of treating the grounds to turn them into a bowl, in this case.

The students explained other proposals for recycled materials in which they had been working with. Mussel shells can be transformed into a bowl as well and orange peel can become vegetable leather, for example.

Gonzalo d’Ambrosio, the tv show’s host, applauded the experience by highlighting that “the School know how to look to the future and give dignity to things that are normally waste”. You can access here to see the part of the program where the EASDAlcoi appears.
