On Wednesday, February 15, at 9:00 a.m. in the Auditorium of the Escola d’Art i Superior i Disseny d’Alcoi (EASDAlcoi) will take place a workshop that will be focused on the interior photography of Héctor Rubio, even though his work also reaches aspects like the portrait, product or others more personal. Firstly, a conference will be held to carry on with two photographic practices one about object photography that will take place on the set and another will be done in the interior spaces of the school as protagonists.
At the conference, the speaker will talk about his beginnings in professional photography, his most significant evolution, the keys to his presence in the market and also he will make a brief exhibition of his most representative works.
Héctor Rubio graduated in Zoology, but later he redirected his career and studied photography at the School of Arts and Trades of Valencia, one of his teenage passions. From that moment, it was initially a hobbie, which then became consolidated thanks to different awards that he obtained, like the scholarship of photojournalism “City of Gijón” or some local prizes like “Valencia Crea” in 2002 or the better portfolio in the “XXXIV National Exhibition of Photography of the Mediterranean”, which allowed him to evolve as a photographer and to be able to do some exhibitions.
From then, he began to work with a photojournalism agency and other customers such as L’Oréal España, Feria Valencia, Global Cosmetics or Arkoslight, among others. But it is when he collaborates with the College of Interior Designers of the Valencian Community (CDICV) that directs his work to interior design reporting, which has become the most important part of his work. Among the photographs about the interior designers work, there are some that stand out, like the ones from Carmen Baselga, Vicente Navarro or Cota cero interiorismo, as well as those of some architects such as Sanahuja & partners or Haditt arquitectos.
