From December the 18th to the 21st, the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi has organized the Animation Conference that will feature prominent speakers who will offer their knowledge and experience to our students and those who will visit the Assembly Hall of our school.
Among the most outstanding figures coming to EASDAlcoi will be: Jaime Maestro, who is currently directing Animal Crackers together with Tony Bancroft (director of Mulan) and Scott Java. This international film will feature the voices of famous actors such as Emily Blunt, Sylvester Stallone and Danny DeVito. In addition, it must be said that in 2003, Jaime Maestro won a Goya with his first project, the shortfilm Sr. Trapo, and he was also pre-nominated for the Oscars. Maestro, an animation genius, will focus his lecture on “Productions and co-productions in 3D”.
Another of the speakers who will participate in these conferences is Pablo Llorens, winner of the Goya for best animated short film in 1995 with Caracol, col, col and also in 2005 with El enigma del chico croqueta. In this case, Llorens will give a presentation on “The secrets of Stop Motion” and a practical workshop on “Modeling and Lypsinc”.
Also speaking will be Maria Trenor, who was also nominated in the Goya with her animated short Exlibris in 2011, and later with Con qué la lavaré she received 14 awards, among which the Berlinale International Film Festival stands out. In this case, Trenor will talk about “Research in a personal project”.
Also the round table, “Professional sector of Valencian animation, current context and opportunities” must be taken into consideration, which will take place next Wednesday and where important figures of the Valencian audiovisual production will take part, as Paloma Mora, president of the Valencian Association of Animation Production Companies; Jose Luis Moreno, Director of CulturArts-IVAC; and César Martí, director of Content and Programming of the new Valencian radio and television broadcasting “À punt.”
