Next March the 20th, 21st and 22nd, the Escola d’Art i Superior of Disseny d’Alcoi will offer a Procedural Design workshop, on which will be worked the parametric, algorithmic and generative design, through the Processing environment. The workshop will be given by Víctor Doval from 4pm to 8pm and will have a limit of 15 students.
In this intensive workshop, an approach to architecture of processes will be taught, a type of design that allows the creation and analysis of complex structures based on simple rules. Programming, now more accessible thanks to the development of simplified languages, has managed to expand to sectors such as design and art. That is why, it is important to know these programming principles in order to get the most out of their potential and thus creating previously unimaginable forms.
In this workshop, the tool to be learnt will be the Processing, mainly focused on the creation of visual environments, which makes it being a basic element for thousands of creators today. It should be noted that with a basic knowledge of Processing you will be able to interact with hundreds of languages such as Javascript, Python, Android or Arduino; or with devices such as Windows, MacOS or printers.

From the EASDAlcoi with this workshop, we want to promote several approaches to graphic design through the programming of processes. As well as, expand the creative abilities of the attendees through the use of lateral thinking combined with the logic, analyzing the possibilities of computing applied to design and publicizing new methods of creation based on free software.
