Remi Hueso Conferència

Remi Hueso worked with our students the phases of a character animation

On Monday, February 20, the “Style and WorkFlow” conference was held in the Auditorium of the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi, where was explained the different ways of animating a shot, according to previous criteria such as target, concept art, character design, etc. The conference was led by Remi Hueso, an animator and post-producer with more than 15 years of experience in the field, who has worked in coordinating animation in the Pocoyó series, as well as animator in other projects such as the films Pos Eso and Animal Crackers. Remi showed several examples comparing animation styles designed for children, with examples from the series Pocoyó, along with other styles targeted to older audiences.

After the conference, the workshop was held during two days (Monday 20 and Tuesday 21 February), where the students practically developed a character animation workflow, as well as learning the necessary phases for the animation of a character such as acting, blocking, refining, etc. Throughout the workshop, students were able to, besides practicing the phases of a character animation, know the similarities and differences in the animation of characters depending on the technique developed (3D, cartoon or stop motion).
