Last weekend, the Echegaray Theater at Ontinyent hosted the performance of the comic opera Il Campanello by Gaetano Donizetti in which the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi collaborated with about 100 students and professors of the School of Music “Josep Melcior Gomis” from Ontinyent. Also the Opera ballet, the AMPA of the Conservatory, the City council of Ontinyent and Caixa Ontinyent collaborated in this play. This representation has raised funds for the Project Trèvol de Ontinyent, which works for the integration of people with functional diversity.
Our school has collaborated in this solidary and integrating project in different aspects. The scenography has been designed by the students of Interiorism degree, the costume design was in charge of the Department of Fashion, the animation area collaborated by doing a videomapping and one of the students of this higher cycle drew the different illustrations that have been used in this opera, which mixes music, theater and poetry.
Saül Gómez, has taken over the direction of orchestra and musical, and the direction of scene was commissioned by Simó Campos.
In order to get everybody into the scene, ll Campanello places the action in Naples in the 19th century, where Annibale Pistacchio, an old pharmacist, has just married the young Serafina. Enrico, her former lover, will constantly interrupt the wedding night wearing several disguises and ringing the night bell at the pharmacy.
