Since September 24th, Urban Skills, a project that encompasses all the aspects of urban culture and offers several activities until September 30th, is being carried out in Alcoy. This initiative is promoted by the former Illustration student Vincent Company, General Coordinator and Graphic Artist.
The project was born from a proposal made by citizens for a call for the participatory budgets of the town of Alcoy. The organisation explains that it is the manifestation of a collective need that until now was not fully covered by the cultural offer that it provided us.

They also emphasize that Urban Skills aims to promote urban culture by offering a wide range of cultural offers. In its first edition, Urban Art as well as Hip Hop and Skate will be the three fundamental pillars that will sustain its content.
They continue to express that “Cooperation and unification are two important terms which help the motor function of this project make sense, since a great effort is being put into generating synergies between various local groups related to this cultural movement, as well as several public entities (City Hall, exhibition spaces, youth and educational centres…), venues that promote music or the citizens themselves giving the party walls of their buildings as a physical support for the making of large murals.”. Thus, the purpose of this event is to generate greater awareness of a cultural and sociological heritage that is currently in full development.
They also highlight the collaboration of the Councilor for Youth and Citizen Participation, Elisabet Morales as the representative of the FEM RAP group and the nice work of the Department of Sports along with Nacho Garcia, the organizer of the Active Extreme sports sector.
