On Monday at the Escola d’Art i Superior de Disseny d’Alcoi the prizes awarded by the company Mapelor, dedicated to the design of articles for use in restaurants and hotels made of paper and nonwoven, haven been released to two projects made by students of our school .
From the graphic section, Laura Colomo, from first of Graphic Design, has been awarded with her proposal of a graphic design which tries to imitate the letters, wants to to be identified with them, but finally it is not achieved. The print, made up of random lines that look like letters at first glance, supposes a game or visual deception that tries to transmit modernity, as well as it gives a great capacity to be combined. In addition, this design can be reproduced in tablecloths, napkins, and in any other support.
In the product category, the winning proposal has been the one of Andrea Alemañ, Francisco Requena and Rafa Calabuig, with a napkin holder with double functionality. On the one hand, it may contain different types of napkin sizes, but may also contain other types of products. Moreover, it can be folded and deployed, favoring hygiene. The surface of the product may include graphic elements or logos from different restaurants wanting to use it.
